About Top Biz Guides
Top Biz Guides is a business publication for the people who choose, implement and run the systems a company depends on. We cover the software, processes and decisions that sit behind everyday operations — and we try to be genuinely useful at the moment a decision is being made.
Our work is written for business decision-makers: owners, operators, managers and the people who end up owning a tool once it is bought. The aim is practical guidance that helps you choose between options, understand how something actually works, and put it into practice.
What we cover
Coverage is organised into eight subject areas:
- People & HR — hiring, scheduling, time and attendance, payroll, performance, onboarding and workforce management.
- Operations — field service, inventory, assets, maintenance, logistics, supply chain and operational process design.
- Project & Work Management — project and task management, resourcing, workflows, collaboration and productivity.
- Finance & Accounting — accounting, expenses, invoicing, budgeting, payments and spend management.
- Sales & Marketing — CRM, lead management, marketing automation, SEO, content and analytics.
- Customer Experience & Commerce — help desk, support, customer success, ecommerce, POS and appointments.
- IT, Data & Security — identity, endpoints, cybersecurity, backup, BI, integrations and automation.
- Business Strategy & Administration — planning, contracts, compliance, licensing, risk and business structure.
How our coverage is organised
Alongside the subject areas, we publish in a few distinct formats:
- Software guides — buying guidance for a category, covering what matters and how the main options differ.
- Reviews — a closer look at a single product.
- Comparisons — direct head-to-head assessments of two products.
- Tutorials — step-by-step walkthroughs, most of them filmed, showing how to complete a specific task in a specific tool.
- Research — original studies and data we produce ourselves.
- Tools — calculators, templates and utilities you can use directly.
